Villa Selene

LOCATION - GIRI SANGOLDA, GOA
AREA - 16000 SQFT BUILT UP AREA
YEAR OF COMPLETION - 2025
SCOPE - DESIGN AND BUILD

This villa reimagines living as a harmonious dialogue with nature, where architecture gently integrates with the land rather than dominating it. Set amid fertile fields and a serene pond, the design preserves existing trees and natural features, organizing the home into independent yet interconnected units—each opening to the outdoors. Central and private courtyards foster ecological balance and intimate encounters with the landscape, while strategic axial views frame the surrounding scenery.
The adaptive reuse of a fallen bamboo tree as a dining canopy underscores the home’s commitment to sustainability and celebrating nature’s imperfections. This villa redefines the idea of luxury living by unfolding as a slow, immersive journey through space and nature. Its design guides inhabitants along shaded walkways, through courtyards, and into light, floating volumes that gently rest above the land, revealing views and experiences in a choreographed rhythm of compression and release.
Material choices- local stone, reclaimed wood, bamboo, and yellow tandur flooring- emphasize sustainability and sensory engagement, while passive cooling strategies harness cross-ventilation, water bodies, and natural shading. At its philosophical core, the villa rejects the notion of a monolithic structure, instead presenting architecture as a responsive, living organism that coexists with its environment and deepens the human connection to nature.
